Muon Space’s FireSat Protoflight satellite, part of a planned constellation to monitor wildfires, has released its first images from low-Earth orbit. The infrared instrument scans for heat signatures indicative of fires. Muon Space plans to launch more satellites by 2026 for full operation by 2030, aiming to scan Earth every 20 minutes. The collaboration with Earth Fire Alliance aims to provide detailed wildfire data.
