Sobeys parent company Empire Co. Ltd. and Lactalis Canada are the first retailer and supplier members of Canada’s new grocery code of conduct, aiming to ensure fair dealings between grocers and suppliers. All major grocers have confirmed support for the voluntary code, with formal registrations now open. The code may become mandatory if all major players don’t participate.
