Local artist Emily Cowan’s solo exhibition, “Under Lease,” runs from August 14-19 at Slice of Life Art Gallery in Vancouver. It features 14 works exploring the challenges of renting in the city, reflecting on the housing crisis and tenants’ resilience. Cowan aims to evoke empathy among renters, homeowners, and landlords through her vibrant, emotional paintings.
