Cornell researchers have developed a method using specially designed light sources to help forensic experts identify AI-manipulated videos. Their approach, called Noise-Coded Illumination, encodes a “secret code” in the light, allowing verification of video authenticity. This technique aims to prevent manipulation of footage from public events, but its effectiveness relies on widespread adoption of the technology.
