Missing Langley teen found dead in Surrey under suspicious circumstances
Homicide investigators are examining the suspicious death of Langley, B.C., teenager Wenyan Michael Zhao, found deceased in Surrey. Surrey RCMP transferred the case to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) and believe it to be an isolated incident. Zhao was last seen in Langley, and police are seeking information on his whereabouts between 9 p.m. on July 18 and 5:30 a.m. the next day. Contact IHIT with any information.

Baffin the polar bear dies at the Calgary Zoo
A seven-year-old male polar bear named Baffin died at the Wilder Institute Calgary Zoo after not resurfacing from the pool during sparring with another bear. The zoo’s interim CEO confirmed the incident, with a necropsy planned. The bears, Baffin and Siku, were star exhibits in the Wild Canada zone. The habitat, completed last fall, also houses other wildlife. The zoo held a news conference to provide further information.
