Wildfire officials expressed deep concern for Lytton as the Cantilever Bar wildfire, now 150 hectares, threatens the community. Evacuation alerts have been issued for properties on the river’s west side. Ashfall was reported, raising fears for residents still recovering from the 2021 wildfire. Currently, 62 wildfires are active in B.C., with hot weather increasing fire risks.
