Police and bylaw officers responded to large groups setting off fireworks in downtown Kitchener, including Victoria Park. The park was closed at 10 p.m. due to safety concerns. One person was charged, and tickets were issued for trespassing and fireworks possession. Police are investigating multiple incidents of reckless behavior. Further details to be released soon.
