Shaheer Cassim, 39, has been charged with hijacking after allegedly stealing a plane from Victoria Flying Club and landing it at Vancouver International Airport. A former pilot, Cassim has expressed extreme views on climate change and previously engaged in activism. He remains in custody, with a court order to assess his fitness for trial.
