Officials are evacuating residents due to the Mount Scatchard wildfire in Harper Lake area. BC Wildfire Service is actively fighting the fire with ground crews and aerial support. The fire was possibly sparked by a truck carrying hay. Evacuation orders are not in place for the Village of Chase. The fire is moving away from populated areas. Trans-Canada Highway remains open.
