Canada’s spy service, CSIS, closed 34 misconduct cases last year, with 33 cases found to be founded. Disciplinary measures were taken, including dismissal. There were 50 new breach of conduct cases and 33 new harassment and violence cases in 2024. CSIS reports a rise in employee reports of wrongdoing and plans to publish its first annual report on addressing misconduct. A new ombudsman’s office is set to open on July 7.
