Infrastructure upgrades are disrupting seven in ten small businesses, according to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business. Current laws prevent municipalities in Newfoundland and Labrador from compensating affected businesses. The CFIB is urging the provincial government to amend these laws, similar to practices in Montreal and Calgary, where compensation policies exist.
