Vancouver city councillors approved extended liquor service hours, allowing downtown establishments to serve until 4 a.m. and areas outside downtown until 3 a.m. on weekends. Businesses must apply for updated licenses. While some officials believe this will aid struggling businesses, concerns about public health and safety were raised. Changes will take effect this fall.
