A controversial grizzly bear, nicknamed “Tex,” was shot and killed on Texada Island, B.C., prompting an investigation by conservation officers. The bear had sparked debate among residents, with some wanting it relocated. Officials were working on a relocation plan when the bear was killed. Its remains will be returned to local First Nations after a necropsy.
