Nova Scotia’s Department of Natural Resources has issued 25 fines this year for burn-ban violations, including seven at $25,000. Most charges were for daily burn restrictions, with one fine for a province-wide ban. The $25,000 fine, made permanent in May, aims to deter violations amid concerns from recent wildfires.
