The report finds Ottawa will miss the $10-a-day childcare target by 2026, with Ontario among five provinces lacking a plan to reduce fees. Only six provinces and territories currently meet the fee target. Economist David Macdonald predicts many parents will still pay more than $10 a day after the deadline. The lack of child care spaces remains a growing issue.
