The Chicago Blackhawks waive veteran defenseman TJ Brodie to buy out his contract. Brodie, 35, signed a $7.5 million deal last off-season. The buyout will result in a $3.23 million cap hit for 2025-26 and $258,000 for 2026-27. Brodie had 2 goals and 10 points in 54 games last season. Throughout his NHL career, he has scored 58 goals and 358 points in 962 games.
