Tyler Heineman stepped in for Alejandro Kirk, who was placed on the 7-day IL with a concussion, during the Blue Jays’ 10-4 loss to the Tigers. Heineman adapted to calling pitches after a PitchCom malfunction and drew a walk against Tarik Skubal. The Blue Jays struggled offensively despite Bo Bichette’s 5-for-5 performance, while Max Scherzer had a strong outing despite allowing a three-run homer.
