Canadian hammer thrower Ethan Katzberg won his second consecutive world title in Tokyo, breaking both the championship and his own Canadian record with a throw of 84.70 meters. He outperformed his nearest competitor by 1.93 meters. Canada achieved a hammer throw gold sweep, with Marco Arop advancing in the 800m heats.
