The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed defenceman William Villeneuve to a one-year, two-way contract extension. The 23-year-old recorded 40 points in 55 games with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies and has a total of 90 points in 165 AHL games. Villeneuve was drafted by Toronto in 2020 and previously played for the Saint John Sea Dogs.
