Google DeepMind released Gemini Robotics On-Device, a new language model for robots to run tasks locally without internet. It can control movements and be fine-tuned with natural language prompts. Outperforms other on-device models in benchmarks. Demonstrated tasks like unzipping bags and folding clothes. Adapted for various robots. Google also released a Gemini Robotics SDK for developers. Other AI developers like Nvidia and Hugging Face are exploring robotics.
