Microsoft is ending security support for Windows 10 in October 2025, offering a $30/year extended security update. Users can now opt for a free option by enabling cloud backup with OneDrive. With over 53% of Windows installs still on Windows 10, the move aims to push users to upgrade to Windows 11. The ESU program will provide updates until Oct. 13, 2026, with businesses having the option to purchase up to three years of additional updates.
