Uber shares surged 8% as they launched a robotaxi service in Atlanta with Waymo. Users can opt for a Waymo vehicle in half of Atlanta, similar to the Austin launch. Tesla also entered the robotaxi market in Austin. The partnership covers 65 square miles in Atlanta. Customers can choose autonomous rides and switch to a human driver if preferred. Uber and Waymo announced the program last September.
