A man, Shaheer Cassim, 39, was charged with hijacking a light plane from Victoria International Airport to Vancouver, motivated by an ideological desire to disrupt airspace. The incident, deemed a terrorist activity, led to a temporary halt of landings at YVR. Cassim, a former pilot and climate activist, is set to appear in court next Tuesday.
