Two new wildfires on Vancouver Island are classified as “out of control.” One near Mary Vine Creek is 1.2 hectares and suspected human-caused. The second, southwest of Campbell River, is 0.3 hectares with an unknown cause. Meanwhile, the Ivanhoe Creek and Carmel Creek wildfires are now classified as “held.” Vancouver Island faces a “high” fire danger rating.
