Former President Donald Trump declared there will be no deal with Iran unless it surrenders unconditionally. His statement escalates tensions amid ongoing US-Israeli strikes on Iranian and Lebanese targets.

Trump Demands ‘Unconditional Surrender’ from Iran

On Friday, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to rule out any compromise with Iran. He said the US and its allies will only accept “unconditional surrender” from Tehran. Trump also said the US plans to install a new, “great and acceptable” leadership in Iran after the surrender.

Trump’s hardline stance came as Iran confirmed diplomatic mediation efforts to end the conflict. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed Iran’s commitment to peace but warned it will defend itself if attacked.

Pezehskian said mediation should focus on those who “underestimated the Iranian people and ignited this conflict.” This ongoing war has sparked missile and drone attacks across the Gulf and escalated fighting between Hezbollah and Israel.

The conflict has triggered a humanitarian crisis in Lebanon and disrupted global oil markets by partially closing the Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping route.

Trump addressed the issue directly on Truth Social, writing:

Rising Violence and Regional Impact

Israel launched multiple airstrikes against Tehran and Beirut overnight, targeting Iranian leadership and Hezbollah positions. Israeli officials claim these strikes have gone “much better than expected.”

Meanwhile, Iran has continued missile and drone attacks on Israel and US assets across the Middle East. Iranian forces have also targeted civilian infrastructure in Gulf countries, straining relations with Arab neighbors.

The war has already killed more than 1,300 people in Iran, including 181 children. The deadliest strike hit a girls’ primary school in Minab, killing around 180 pupils and staff.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded to Trump’s demands on X, emphasizing Iran’s readiness to fight:

What Comes Next in the Middle East Conflict?

The US is preparing to increase its military strikes on Iran, signaling a “surge” in operations. Israeli officials warn a “new phase” of the war is beginning, raising fears of broader regional conflict.

Diplomatic efforts are underway, but the prospects for peace remain slim as both sides reject compromise. Iran’s leadership council is meeting to select a new supreme leader after the recent assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Experts warn the war’s continuation could further destabilize the Middle East and disrupt global energy supplies. Civilians in Lebanon and Iran face displacement and casualties as fighting intensifies.

Trump explained his vision for Iran’s future leadership on CNN, saying he wants to be involved in selecting a successor to Khamenei. He compared the situation to US efforts in Venezuela, aiming for regime change without full government collapse.

US Central Command recently released video footage showing destroyed Iranian drone carriers, underscoring the military escalation underway.
